Privacy Policy Overview
A plain-language summary. See also How We Handle Your Data for the member-facing walkthrough.
What we collect
Account information you provide at registration (name, email, address, security question answers), pet details you add, and activity generated by using the platform (friendships, messages, billing history).
Why we collect it
Solely to operate the registry: to identify your account, display your pets' public profiles as you configure them, process billing, and provide support when needed.
What's public vs. private
By design, a pet's core registry facts (species, breed, certification status, owner's XKD number) are public — that's the point of a certification registry. Anything that would identify you personally (name, email, address) is never shown publicly. See Your Pet's Public Profile & What's Hidden for the complete breakdown.
Third parties
We don't sell member data to third parties. Standard infrastructure providers (hosting, etc.) may process data on our behalf strictly to run the service.
Your rights
- Export a complete copy of your data at any time
- Delete your account permanently, at any time
- Control specific visibility toggles per pet (birthday, microchip number)
- Control who can friend-request or message you via Privacy Settings
Retention
See Data Retention Policy for how long we keep information after you delete it.
